How it works

Type a word and the finder searches a bundled list of several thousand common English words entirely in your browser. It groups matches into three useful buckets:

• Perfect rhymes — words whose ending, starting from the final stressed vowel, matches your word (for example light → bright, flight, tonight). The tool reads the spelling from the last vowel group onward to approximate that shared ending sound.
• Near rhymes — also called slant or half rhymes. These share either the same vowel sound (assonance, like heart / dark) or the same closing consonants (consonance, like heart / sort), giving you flexible options when a perfect rhyme is scarce.
• Same syllable count — every listed word carries its syllable number, and this group collects words of the same length so you can swap in a fresh word without breaking your line's meter.

Syllables are estimated by counting vowel groups and adjusting for common silent endings, and rhymes are matched from spelling rather than a full pronunciation dictionary — so treat the results as inspiration to scan by ear. Use the syllable filter to narrow results, and click any word to look up its rhymes. Everything runs offline in your browser — no data leaves your device.
